Baba Siddique murder accused used labourer’s hotspot to contact mastermind

The prime suspect in the murder of NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique has revealed to the Mumbai Police that he used a labourer’s mobile hotspot to communicate with key conspirators, including alleged mastermind Anmol Bishnoi. Akashdeep Gill, a prime suspect arrested in Punjab, revealed during interrogation that he accessed the hotspot of a labourer named Balwinder to evade tracking, ANI reported.
Gill provided logistics to the three shooters who killed Siddique on October 12. The murder plot was allegedly orchestrated by notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother Anmol.
“In a significant development in the Baba Siddique murder case, Akashdeep Gill disclosed during interrogation how he communicated with key conspirators using a labourer’s mobile hotspot… The Crime Branch is currently searching for Gill’s mobile phone, which may hold vital evidence related to the case,” police said.
Baba Siddique was shot dead by three assailants near the office of his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique, in Mumbai’s Nirmal Nagar on October 12. The former minister, who was close to several Bollywood stars like Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, sustained two bullet injuries to his chest.
Shiva Kumar, the alleged main shooter, and four other accused have been arrested. Two others have also been arrested for sheltering the shooters and financing the murder.
During the investigation, a picture of Zeeshan Siddique was also recovered from the phone of one of the accused, indicating that he might have been on the hit list. The probe has also revealed that the gang planned to kill Aftab Poonawala, the accused arrested in the gruesome Shraddha Walker murder case.
